Hey guys, my name is Marcus Thomsen, i’m 17 but turn 18 on Thursday the 7th of January. I’m about 1.85m(about 6’1’’) and my weight’s around 110kg(241lbs).
I come from Norway, but at the moment I’m living in Aarhus which is the 2nd biggest city in Denmark.
The 2015 outdoor season was a dream season for me even though i injured my left ankle in my 2nd meet of the year in Halle, Germany. I was scared that I wouldn’t be ready for IAAF World Youth Championships, but I was. The results there were disappointing (11th in the final). Later on in the season I threw a new Norwegian U18 shot put record of 20.71m at the U18 Norwegian Championships (PB by almost 1m). 2015 was also the year where I won my first international title (Nordic U20 Championships).
In my throwing I focus a lot on my technique. I’ve had some problems with injuries, that I have gotten from my technique, so I have modded it.
The weekend 8th-10th of January, I will go to Norway for a training weekend with the rest of the Norwegian throwing squad, and it will also be my season opener. My goal there is to break the IAAF WJC Qualifying standard of 18.25m, and maybe the U20 Norwegian record!
