Hey again to the throwers unite world ! So I’m currently weighing 97.8kg and moving a lot better in the circle.
I managed to throw a distance of 72.73m with the 6kg hammer and break the state Record for Victoria while being at the bottom of my weights program in a heavy cycle. So that is definitely a positive!
The last 2 weeks have been moving well for me. I have found plenty of soreness from training however I am throwing in a program that does cause soreness, so it is to be expected. I’m Currently throwing an 8kg on a long wire as well as a 6kg in a mini peak preparation for the state and national championships as well as this I’m lifting every day I throw. Light loads with a decent amount of reps.
I recently had the opportunity to go on the Athletics Australia Under19 Development Camp. The camp was an amazing experience and I trained with some awesome athletes in world class facilities. It was good to also learn about the mental aspect of preparation for competition along with that, we also learnt about how the potential athletes are going to deal with going to Bydgoszcz and how we can all perform in the World U20 championships and try to meet Australia’s aim of top 16.
In the next 2 weeks I have the Victorian Junior and open championships so hopefully some PB’s from that competition !
