Yet again, the results of the top 10 Hammer throwers in 2015 is interesting.
Anita Wlodarczyk became the first women in history to throw over 80 metres in the hammer throw. And likewise tops the 2015 rankings list. There was no results available for her as a youth athlete and in addition she had the second lowest throw out of the group as a Junior. Yet she went on to break the world record in 2015.
Wenxiu Zhang is the only athlete to throw 70metres as a youth from the group and likewise had the furthest throw as a Junior. Her continual improvement over the various stages of her career resulted in a throw of 77.33metres in 2015. The 4th furthest throw for the year.
The other athletes show continual progression throughout their respective Youth and Junior careers. It is interesting to note the large range of progression that has occurred for all the athletes. On average they have all improved 16metres from what they threw as a youth to what they threw in 2015.
It will be interesting to see how this large improvement compares to that of Shot Put, Discus and the Javelin throw for Women.
