Rubber Discus:
Generally the material used for the lowest rim weight discus.
Positives:
- Excellent choice for beginning throwers as they can withstand a lot of abuse. (I found a rubber discus in my backyard that was over 8 years old recently! After a good clean, it would be “as good as new”)
- Cheap to buy!
Negatives:
- Low Rim weight
- Very unstable in flight especially with strong wind!
- Discus will lose lift and fall to ground sooner due to it’s instability
