Hello again, thanks for taking the time to read this.
Well the season is fast approaching, im writing this from approx 10000 feet at the moment, as I’m heading to Vienna to open up my 2016 campaign. I was thrilled to get an email from England athletics to say i had the honour of competing for my country again, and what a great start to 2016!
I feel in the shape of my life, and alot further ahead of where i was this time last year. My main focus is on the outdoor season and I can’t wait to see what I can produce when I peak in the season. I have set myself some new goals for the new season ahead, and can’t wait to smash them.
I am really looking forward to getting back into the routine of competing again, and excited to ‘blow the cobwebs out’ as it were, this weekend, and seeing what sort of shape I’m in with the 7.26kg. I have been throwing the 8kg most of winter and it seems to work really well for me, and has done so for the last 2 years. It’s just a matter of controlling the added speed that I have now gained from down the to the competition weight shot put. My power seems to have increased a lot this winter, and I haven’t done any speed work as of yet, so I’m looking to put a good marker out to build on, ready for the British championships. Then I think I’ll be going back into hibernation ready to start throwing big outdoors!
Over the last 2 or 3 weeks, my training has seemed to increase massively, and this has given me more motivation than ever. A 63cm training P.B / P.R has given me the confidence of knowing im starting to become ready to throw big! The gym and my lifting has been increasing as well which is always nice and very welcomed.
UPDATE
So…3 days later, here I am, on route home, looking forward to my bed! I threw a P.B of 18.69m. Didn’t hit a clean throw but can’t wait to see what I can achieve this year! And I can’t wait to do abit of speed work to get the legs moving, along with having some timing to the throw. All in all a great weekend and can’t wait for the next competition already!!
Anyway I will be updating my social media and website accordingly after this weekend. So make sure you keep a look out to see how i get on
