2. Yuriy Bilonoh
Born in Sumy, Bilonoh began his athletics at a Children and Youth Sports School where his first trainer was Vladimir Belikov. After finding great success as a Junior Bilonoh successfully transferred through to the senior implements. Placing 5th at the World Indoors and 1st at the Summer Universiade in 1995 at only 21 years of age.
Less than 10 years later, Bilonoh claimed gold at the 2004 Olympic Games in the Men’s shot put. During 2012, samples collected from the games were retested due to the advancements in testing procedures. His sample came back positive. As a result his medal was withdrawn and Adam Nelson moved to the Gold medal position after nearly 10 years.
